Every five years the American Heart Association (AHA) updates its recommendations for Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Adult Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. The previous manuals and guidelines were published in 2010. The updates were published slightly later than expected, actually in 2016. Nevertheless, the manuals and recommendations are still referred to as the 2015 guidelines, and they represent the most recent changes to AHA recommendations. The next official update is planned for 2020.
